Mark Schuermann is a natural voice and talent.
As a kid, Mark played Bob Barker and Alex Trebek, hosting family game nights and honing his ebullient persona. At Cal State, Northridge, he announced just about every sport and mentored high school students who were exploring broadcast journalism. Since entering the workforce, Mark has approached each job with intention and care. His talent, professionalism, and intelligence speak for themselves - Mark often gets his next gig by word of mouth or after future clients see him work.
Mark has been the Voice of the AVP for ten years; his name and baritone are synonymous with the brand. At the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2020 Tokyo Games, Mark was the English Announcer at the Indoor Volleyball arena. In Rio, he led the venue to the highest fan experience ratings. Mark and his team were then commissioned to travel the world and teach their presentation and entertainment style to MCs, DJs, and Producers from more than 20 different countries.
NBC Universal signed Mark for The Golf Channel’s World Long Drive tour, a youth-infused high-energy alternative to traditional golf. He works closely with the NCAA, hosting the National Championships for Hockey, Volleyball, and Lacrosse, the College World Series, and Regionals and Final Four Friday of the NCAA Men’s March Madness. Mark has announced for several universities, including UCLA, USC, and LMU, as well as Conference Championships with the Pac-12 and ACC.
Mark has been live on ESPN, NBC, NBC Sports Network, The Golf Channel, and Amazon Prime. He’s interviewed sports Hall of Famers and A-List celebrities. His skills range from one-on-one interviews to sports play-by-play and analysis to in-arena hosting. He’s done nationally-syndicated commercials, voiceover, narration, and athlete introductions. He’s hosted live events, virtual events, podcasts, and fundraisers.
Clients love Mark - he’s never lost a gig and seldom needs instruction. Mark shines under the spotlight, on camera, with a mic in his hand. He’s highly versatile and personable, with a quick wit and charming self-awareness. Plus, his voice is classic broadcast perfection; Wheel of Fortune's Pat Sajak once said Mark has the voice he’s always wanted.
